The Suramadu Bridge (Indonesian: Jembatan Suramadu), also known as the Surabaya–Madura Bridge, is a three-section cable-stayed bridge built between Surabaya on the island of Java and the city of Bangkalan on the island of Madura in Indonesia. Opened on June 10 2009, this 5.4 km long bridge is the longest bridge in Indonesia and the first bridge to cross the Madura Strait.
The cable-stayed section has three spans with lengths of 192 m, 434 m and 192 m. This bridge has two lanes in each direction plus an emergency lane and a special motorbike lane. The bridge was built by a consortium of Indonesian company’s PT Adhi Karya and PT Waskita Karya working with China Road and Bridge Corp. and China Harbour Engineering Co. Ltd. The total cost of the project, including connecting roads, has been estimated at 4.5 trillion rupiah (US$445 million).
Construction was started on August 20, 2003. In July 2004, a girder collapsed, killing one worker and injuring nine others. Work on the bridge halted at the end of 2004 due to lack of funds, but was restarted in November 2005. There is no best way to deal with pests in agriculture. Pesticides which are commonly used may cause many problems. I think combining different management operations is the most effective way to control pests.
Firstly, the chemicals in the pesticides may build up as residues in the environment and in the soil, which absorbs the chemicals. This reduces the quality of farm product.
Secondly, pests can gradually become resistant to pesticides. This means that newer and stronger ones have to be developed.
Lastly, some pesticides affect non target plants and animals such as fish and bees. This affects the ecology and environment as well.
So, understanding of ecology of an area helps a lot in pest control. Pesticides should be chosen and applied carefully so that they don’t affect the ecological balance and environment.

There are many arguments in favour of a boarding school education. Nevertheless, the boarding school is not always the best education institution for everyone.
At an early age interacting and communicating with people is very important for a child’s personal life and can be especially helpful for his/her future. In a boarding school, shy children can take advantage of interaction through communal activities. The boarding school also offers a great variety of activities such as arts, sports, and music that allow children to demonstrate and develop specialized skills in their free time.
Furthermore, the structured way of life and strict rules at the boarding school may help students to get used to a well-ordered way of life. The manners and social skills will help them to become more responsible and confident, and to develop their talents in leadership. Professionally trained teachers and educators in the boarding school can offer excellent education without the parents’ constant supervision.
In spite of these good points, it is not advisable to send a child to a boarding school if he/she is a dependent learner. A boarding school usually demands that student learn independently. In addition, the boarding school should not be seen as a measure to solve inappropriate behaviour or unsatisfactory study performance. However, amidst the campaign fervour and political rhetoric, several crucial issues demand scrutiny.
Firstly, the issue of transparency and accountability within the electoral process remains a concern.
